DIY Fancy Pants Clothespins

A Paper Source store opened in Louisville not long ago and I find myself spending way too much time there. On a recent visit I saw some fancy pants clothespins. Isn’t that a fabulous idea?!

I use clothespins all the time – everything from our summer bucket list to closing chip bags. Rather than drop some cash on more clothespins that end up in every drawer in my kitchen, I decided to upgrade my plain ol’ old ones. Obviously I’m not an artist but it was super fun to just color for a few minutes.

diy_clothespinsAll you need is some colorful pens or markers and then go crazy. These colorful Sharpies make my day every time I use them. And since I plan to use these in my “office” to make an inspiration board I used lots of stripes and polka dots – things every good blogger needs. :)

Apparently I need to do more coloring because these little doodles were the most fun I’ve had in ages. Or maybe I just need to get out of the house more!

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!

My son has issues with finger strength and holding a pencil comfortably. His Sylvan tutor told me to start using clothespins as little finger exercisers while we read. He exercises both hands with his index finger & thumb and middle finger & thumb. Thank you for this idea! I will now bling up his clothespins with your idea! Super cute! Dinos, Star Wars and bugs a’comin’!

I was blog hopping and saw the name of your blog on someone’s blogroll and had to laugh. I have a two year old Henry and I had just gotten off the phone with my out-of-town husband to vent about what a handful Henry is. I had such grand aspirations for this weekend – clean out the fridge, organize the craft cabinet, catch up on laundry… and then HENRY HAPPENED.

I love these clothes pins – I’m going to do this project to make me happy while I hang up clothes to dry. Maybe after Henry goes to bed, though ;)

Thanks for making me think about Papersource and how much I miss leaving near one! ;) This is such a cute idea. You know, I bought that set of colored Sharpies because I couldn’t resist them and I *never* use them. Must remedy that.

what a cute and decorative idea….always inspired by DIY’s and then never end up doing them…BUT…doodling on clothespins is definitely something even I could handle, lol.
    Hope you are well!
